Showcase: Local Authorities & Community Groups

Join the Climate Action Team in An Taisce as we shine a light on Local Authorities and Community Groups who ran a localised and highly successful Climate Action Week in October 2024. Hear from your colleagues what worked, how hurdles were overcome, what engaged the most people and what gave the greatest sense of community empowerment.

We have some very exciting news to share with you about Climate Action Week 2025 and how we hope this is the year that gets everyone in Ireland involved.

Last year we saw 343 events directly engaging nearly 15,000 citizens. We saw a diverse range of climate actions channeled through inclusive and intergenerational events, workshops, walk and talks, movie screenings, creative arts, games, comedy, cabaret, food, storytelling, and knowledge sharing. In addition, 823 climate communications were released, reaching an estimated 355,000 people!

Ireland’s 9th Climate Action Week will take place from 13th-19th October 2025 and we want to see every community, business, school, college and Local Authority get involved.
